Meeting of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan

On 8 June 2026, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A. Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan B. Usmanov, who arrived in Ashgabat to participate in the high-level meeting dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current issues of bilateral cooperation, including the development of political-diplomatic, trade-economic relations, and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

 

The interlocutors reviewed the implementation of agreements reached following visits at the highest and high levels and noted the important role of the existing legal and contractual framework in the consistent development of bilateral relations.

An exchange of views took place on expanding cooperation within regional and international organizations of mutual interest. The sides confirmed their readiness to provide mutual support to initiatives aimed at strengthening stability, security and economic development in the region.

The parties noted the positive dynamics of Turkmen-Uzbek relations and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining regular contacts for the further development of partnership for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
