During the International forum of medical scientists «Health diplomacy is the foundation of a healthy world», representatives of scientific intelligentsia, as well as high-ranking experts in healthcare exchanged views on health issues and the promotion of science diplomacy.
WHO experts who took the floor emphasized that health diplomacy is now more relevant and integral than ever in the foreign policy of many countries, and is becoming a central element of strategic health leadership at the global and regional levels.
In particular, Dr. Ž. Plazonić, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia, emphasizing the timeliness of this forum organized by Turkmenistan, expressed that it creates an opportunity to share the experience accumulated by each country and discuss multifaceted issues arising in the fight against the pandemic.
In his video message, Dr. F.Koca, Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, stated that emergency global problems require innovative diplomatic solutions, and health diplomacy is one of the valuable mechanisms we have for dealing with urgent issues.
Dr. A. Baciu, State Secretary of the Ministry of Health of Romania, emphasized that today health field is recognized by the international community as the leading contributor to sustainable development, poverty reduction, social justice and human rights.

In the course of discussions, Turkmen side reaffirmed strong commitment of Turkmenistan to further develop and strengthen cooperation with the World Health Organization, as well as with all countries of the world, aimed at jointly combating this dangerous new type of infection and minimizing the social and economic consequences caused by its spreading.
