Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission was held in Doha

On 26 – 27 November, 2025, the third meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was held in Doha, State of Qatar. Heads and representatives of various government agencies and business circles of two countries participated in the meeting.

The meeting was chaired by the heads of the commission – Minister of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan Nazar Agahanov and Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the State of Qatar Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Sayed.

Before the official part of the event, the two Ministers held a separate meeting, during which the sides thoroughly reviewed and discussed opportunities for developing cooperation between the two countries in various areas, with a particular emphasis on trade and economic cooperation.

The agenda of the successive meeting included a wide range of issues related to interstate relations in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres, including the identification of new favourable areas of cooperation.  The sides noted the important role of the Turkmen-Qatari Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in implementing previously reached agreements.

Representatives of Turkmenistan and Qatar comprehensively reviewed the development of bilateral relations in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian, transport and logistics, oil and gas, industrial, agricultural, water, investment, and banking sectors, and analyzed the implementation of the resolutions of the previous meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.

During the meeting, an active exchange of views took place on developing cooperation in such areas as science and education, culture, healthcare, sports and tourism, and environmental protection.

Emphasizing the need for regular bilateral meetings and consultations, the participants expressed confidence that the new agreements reached during the meeting will contribute to the further strengthening of constructive dialogue in the interests of the two countries and fraternal peoples.

Following the meeting, the Protocol of the Third Meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Qatari Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation was signed.
