First Solar and Wind Power Plant to Be Launched in Turkmenistan

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow announced at the Halk Maslahaty meeting that the multi-purpose solar and wind power plant built in the Gyzylarbat district will soon be inaugurated.

In his speech, the President further stated:

“In our country, successful work has been done to integrate the energy system into a unified network. High-voltage power transmission lines have been commissioned along the Ahal — Balkan, Mary — Ahal, and Balkan — Daşoguz routes. This improves the supply of electricity to our domestic consumers and creates favorable conditions for the export of electricity from different regions of our country to foreign nations. Currently, the construction of a power plant operating in a combined cycle in the Türkmenbaşy district of the Balkan province is progressing at a rapid pace. In the coming days, we will participate in the opening ceremony of the multi-purpose solar and wind power plant built in the Gyzylarbat district. We will continue establishing new production facilities in the construction and industrial complexes in the future.”
