Development of foreign economic activities of Turkmenistan

On April 15, 2020, in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the first meeting of the Coordination Commission for the implementation of the Action Plan for 2020 was held as part of the “Program for the Development of Turkmenistan’s Foreign Economic Activities for 2020-2025.”

The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of more than 30 ministries and departments of Turkmenistan, including the Mejlis, the ministries of education, health and medical industry, internal affairs and others. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the private sector, who play an important role in the implementation of the Action Plan for 2020, aimed at strengthening cooperation with international organizations, world economic and financial institutions.

At the beginning of the meeting, the participants heard speeches by members of the Coordination Commission, namely, deputy ministers of foreign affairs, finance and economy, as well as trade and foreign economic relations of Turkmenistan. Noting the importance of the “Program for the Development of Turkmenistan’s Foreign Economic Activities for 2020-2025”, they spoke in detail about the work done in this context in the first quarter of this year.

Then the participants exchanged views on the possibilities of strengthening foreign economic activities, taking into account the macroeconomic situation in the world. A wide range of issues aimed at the successful implementation of the “Program for the development of foreign economic activity of Turkmenistan for 2020-2025” was considered.
