Delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting at the EXIM Bank of the United States in Washington

On 6 November 2024, a delegation of Turkmenistan headed by Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan Rahimberdi Jepbarov was on a working visit to Washington to discuss further strengthening of economic and environmental cooperation with the United States.

During the visit, the delegation held talks with the President and Chairwoman of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) Reta Jo Lewis and Deputy Special Envoy for Climate at the U.S. Department of State Richard Duke.

The issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting, including expansion of bilateral cooperation, initiatives on climate change action, reduction of methane emissions, and implementation of feasible economic, energy and infrastructure projects.

The sides noted the importance of joint efforts to promote sustainable development and analyzed ways to attract financial and technological resources to attain these goals.
