Cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan is strengthened

On April 30, 2020, negotiations took place in the framework of Turkmen-Japanese Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation through videoconferencing, which were attended by co-chairmen of the Committee: Minister of Foreign Affairs R.Meredov and the Managing Executive Officer and President of Machinery of Itochu Corporation Hiroyuki Tsubai.

The parties noted the great significance of systematic and constructive dialogue between Turkmenistan and Japan set on high state and governmental levels.  Namely the visits and regular meetings between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe, as well as the bilateral documents signed in the result established firm political and legal basis for dynamic development of bilateral relations.

Co-chairmen discussed the implementation of previous agreements, by considering in particular the execution of joint projects in gaschemical and transport spheres.

In this regard, the need to intensify the work on practical implementation of the Roadmap signed in Tokyo in October 2019 was underlined.
