Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the People’s Republic of China P. Durdyev held a meeting with the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the AIIB Jin Liqun.
At the beginning of the meeting, Jin Liqun shared the bank’s experience of interaction with Turkmenistan and expressed interest in further expanding cooperation. The head of the bank announced his intention to take part in the Third Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), which will be held in the Avaza National Tourist Zone from August 4 to 8, 2025. He also said that the AIIB plans to organize its exhibition pavilion at this event.
During the meeting, which was held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, the parties discussed promising areas of bilateral cooperation. The Turkmen side also presented information on the country’s current foreign policy and its international activities.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed gratitude for the meaningful and constructive exchange of views. The Turkmen delegation presented the AIIB President and the bank’s library with a book of selected poems by the great Turkmen poet and thinker Makhtumkuli Fragi, translated into Chinese.
