On 29 August 2025, as part of the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition in Osaka, Japan, an international conference on the theme “Turkmenistan – a Land of Friendship, Brotherhood and Hospitality” was held at the National Pavilion of Turkmenistan. The event was dedicated to the country’s tourism sector.
The main purpose of the conference was to promote Turkmenistan’s tourism potential on the international stage, strengthen cooperation with Japan, and encourage collaboration between public and private entities in the tourism sector.
During the conference, participants were introduced to Turkmenistan’s state policy in the field of tourism, its cultural and historical heritage, ongoing projects, and prospects for international cooperation.
Speakers included representatives from the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Culture of Turkmenistan, and tourism agencies from both Turkmenistan and Japan. Bilateral talks were also held between tourism companies from the two countries to explore opportunities for future cooperation.
The conference served as further evidence of Turkmenistan’s growing international profile and the global community’s increasing interest in its tourism potential.
