Ambassador of Turkmenistan met with former Prime Minister of Japan

The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan A. Bayramov held a meeting with the former Prime Minister of Japan and Head of the Headquarters for Japan’s Growth Strategy of Liberal Democratic party Fumio Kishida.

During the meeting the parties discussed issues related to the development of political, interparliamentary, and party-to-party relations, as well as economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between Turkmenistan and Japan.

The significance of the meeting between the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, and Fumio Kishida, who posted at that time as the Prime Minister of Japan, who visited Japan in September 2022 to attend funeral events dedicated to the passing of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was emphasized. The telephone conversations held with the President of Turkmenistan during his tenure as Prime Minister of Japan in 2022-2024 were also warmly recalled, and the attention paid by the Government of Turkmenistan to the development of relations with Japan was underlined.

The meeting also addressed specific areas for further development of Turkmen–Japanese political, interparliamentary, and party cooperation, support for Japanese companies involved in major oil and gas and chemical industry projects, and the strengthening of economic cooperation.
