A video conference meeting was held with the UNFPA Country Director in Turkmenistan

On September 16, 2025, a video conference meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova and the Country Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Turkmenistan Chinwe Ogbonna.

During the conversation, the diplomats noted the high level of interaction between Turkmenistan and UNFPA and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation in priority areas.

Separately, they noted the recent approval of the UNFPA Country Program for Turkmenistan for 2026-2030 at the Second Regular Session of the UNFPA Executive Board, which took place on August 28 this year in New York.

Also during the meeting, certain issues related to the further development of joint agreements and plans were discussed.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed mutual interest in further developing the partnership and confirmed their readiness to implement joint projects within the framework of the new Country Program.
