A telephone conversation was held between the heads of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan and Saudi Arabia

Today, on June 13, a telephone conversation took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.

During the talks, the head of the Foreign Ministry of Turkmenistan expressed gratitude to the Saudi side for the excellent organization of the two-day visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the rite of Umra Hajj (small pilgrimage).

The interlocutors discussed in detail the course and prospects of bilateral cooperation. In particular, a clear plan of joint actions was defined to strengthen the Turkmen-Saudi relations in various fields.

An agreement was reached to organize a visit of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia to Turkmenistan by the end of June this year to conduct bilateral political consultations on a wide range of issues. An agreement was also reached on organizing a regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Turkmen-Saudi Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation in Riyadh in the second half of this year.

During the telephone conversation, it was emphasized that these events will be held in the context of preparations for the official visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
