On August 7, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs of the United States of America John Mark Pommersheim.
During the meeting, gratitude was expressed to the American side for the participation of the US delegation in the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries. The participation of the delegation in LLDC3 was noted in the message of the President of the United States Donald Trump, sent to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov in March of this year.
The parties discussed key areas of cooperation between Turkmenistan and the United States in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, and cultural and humanitarian fields.
Interest was expressed in holding political consultations this year.
In addition, the parties discussed additional issues of mutual interest.
