A conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality was held in Astana

On November 4, 2025, a conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality was held at the Maqsut Narikbayev University. The event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the diplomatic corps accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as scientists, cultural figures, teachers, and students from leading universities in Kazakhstan.

Opening the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan B.Rejepov, emphasized the historical significance of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality status, which has been confirmed three times by resolutions of the UN General Assembly.

Representatives of the Parliament and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan delivered welcoming speeches, noting that Turkmenistan is a striking example of a consistent and responsible approach to international relations. The speakers emphasized that the fraternal ties between Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and spiritual kinship, are developing in a wide range of areas.

The speeches of the heads of diplomatic missions accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan attracted particular attention. In their addresses, they noted Turkmenistan’s contribution to strengthening peace and good-neighborliness both in the region and at the global level. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality serves as a model of a far-sighted and peace-loving foreign policy that promotes dialogue, mutual understanding, and constructive cooperation between states.

 

The event included a book exhibition featuring the works of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as publications reflecting the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people. Guests were shown a video presentation about Turkmenistan’s achievements since independence.

The solemn atmosphere of the event was complemented by performances of national music.

Concluding the event, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan expressed his gratitude to the conference participants for their contribution to the development of bilateral relations, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts in strengthening friendship and mutual respect.

The presentation of letters of appreciation was the final highlight of the meeting, emphasizing that genuine partnership is built on respect, trust, and the pursuit of common goals.
