A Conference Dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Neutrality Held in Bishkek

On 18 November 2025, within the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust and on the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s neutrality, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Kyrgyz Republic held a conference at the Kyrgyz National University named after Zh. Balasagyn.

The conference was attended by the faculty members and students of the university, as well as participants who joined via videoconference from the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Samarkand State University named after Sh. Rashidov of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand, Al-Farabi National University of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International University named after K. Sh. Toktomamatov of the Kyrgyz Republic.

During the event, the significance of the International Year of Peace and Trust, proclaimed at the initiative of Turkmenistan, was highlighted, along with the importance of mutually beneficial relations that Turkmenistan, as a neutral state, maintains with countries around the world. It was noted that Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality, recognized three times by the United Nations General Assembly, is among the important achievements of the country in the years of independence and serves as a symbol of its peace-loving foreign policy.

Speakers emphasized Turkmenistan’s substantial progress in the political, economic, cultural and social spheres achieved under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan. Special attention was drawn to the active role of Turkmenistan in promoting international cooperation and advancing the principles of peace and mutual trust.

The connection between the works of the great poet Magtymguly Fragi and the ideals of the International Year of Peace and Trust was particularly underscored. Participants noted that his poetry conveys calls for friendship, fraternity and humanism. As part of the event, a video presentation on Turkmenistan was shown and an exhibition demonstrating the rich cultural heritage of the country was organized.
