The fourth book in the Makul Language Series, Makul Kids English-Turkmen Picture Dictionary, has been published in the United States.
Published by Amazon, the book was created to help children learn essential English and Turkmen vocabulary in an easy, engaging, and memorable way. Each word is accompanied by an illustration, its English and Turkmen names, an example sentence in English, and its Turkmen translation, allowing young learners to understand both the meaning and practical use of each word.
The dictionary is organized into a variety of thematic sections, including animals, fruits and vegetables, food, nature, parts of the human body, the home and household items, buildings, transportation, occupations, tools, colors, numbers, shapes, verbs, adjectives, and antonyms. In total, children can learn 442 of the most commonly used everyday words through illustrations, example sentences, and bilingual translations.
The book was published with the support of the Makul Hyzmat Translation Center. All of the illustrations were created by 14-year-old Turkmen student Yusup Orazgylyjov, while the book’s graphic design and desktop publishing were completed by Ysmayyl Orazgylyjov.
This publication is the fourth volume in the Makul Language Series, following Makul English-Turkmen Dictionary, Makul English-Turkmen Language Handbook, and Makul English & Turkmen Proverbs. It is also the first book in the series designed specifically for children.
According to the authors, the dictionary is intended not only for children but also as a valuable educational resource for parents and teachers. They hope it will inspire young learners to develop a greater interest in both the English and Turkmen languages.
The book was prepared through the collaborative efforts of the editorial team. The authors also emphasized that they welcome readers’ comments, suggestions, and feedback, which will help improve future editions of the Makul Language Series.
