According to reports published in TMCARS in Turkmen and Russian, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s Independence and the 30th anniversary of its Permanent Neutrality, the “Makul Anglo–Turkmen Dictionary” was published in the United States and is now available on the Amazon platform.
The new dictionary contains 16,500 English words and tens of thousands of their Turkmen translations. In addition, the dictionary includes specialized terminology in fields such as law, business, medicine, sports, and artificial intelligence.
Purpose and chief editor
As noted in the TMCARS report, the purpose of the publication is to create a useful reference guide for students, translators, lawyers, economists, doctors, IT specialists, and readers interested in international relations.
The chief editor of the dictionary is Dr. Dovran Orazgylyjov, Doctor of Law.
International recognition
In the foreword to the book, leading scholars and officials of the world expressed their views.
- S. Frederick Starr (Distinguished Fellow for Eurasia at the American Foreign Policy Council, Professor at Johns Hopkins University) emphasized that the dictionary “creates conditions for the Turkmen language to take its rightful place at the international level”, describing it as “an important bridge between languages.”
- Eric Stewart (Executive Director of the U.S.–Turkmenistan Business Council) stated: “Open communication is the foundation of trade and investment. This book will contribute to the expansion of long-term cooperation between our countries.”
