Turkmenistan to Send Humanitarian Aid to Afghanistan

Turkmenistan will send humanitarian aid to Afghanistan after a devastating earthquake left thousands dead and injured.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov has signed an order for the Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov Charitable Foundation for Assistance to Children in Need of Care to deliver the aid. The aid will be prioritized for children and residents most affected by the disaster. The humanitarian shipment will include a variety of essential goods, such as medicines, food, and textile products, according to TDH.

The recent earthquake, which struck last Sunday, has had a catastrophic impact. The UN, citing Afghan authorities, reports that the death toll has reached 2,205 people, with another 3,640 injured. The quake also destroyed an estimated 6,700 houses, leaving approximately 84,000 people in need of assistance.
