31st anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea

On 7 February 2023, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea celebrate the 31st Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between two countries. To mark this day, that paved the way for friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation between two states, the meeting of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea H.E. Mr. Begench Durdyyev with the editor-in-chief of the international magazine “The Korea Post” Mr. Lee Kyung-sik was conducted.

Ambassador Begench Durdyyev briefed the Korean journalist about the bilateral relations in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, which are successfully carried out under the leadership of the Presidents of two countries. Furthermore, the Turkmen diplomat noted that the agreements and the positive results reached during the recent official visit of the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, the National Leader of the Turkmen people H.E. Mr. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea laid a firm foundation to the further development of the Turkmen – Korean cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Begench Durdyyev presented in detail the information about the Ahal region’s Arkadag city, where the necessary conditions were created for the active implementation of technologies and best practices of the leading countries in the construction of buildings and facilities according to the “green” and “smart” city standards, which include environmental conditions, seismic stability of the buildings, as well as safety of their residents.
