Working visit to Thailand

At the invitation of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), on November 27-30, 2019, a delegation of Turkmenistan led by G. Atayeva, Chairman of the National Center for Trade Unions, Chairman of the Central Council of the Women's Union of Turkmenistan arrived at Bangkok, the capital of the Kingdom of Thailand, on a working visit.

The opening of the Review Meeting on the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action (Beijing + 25) took place on November 27 in Bangkok.

The meeting examined achievements, issues that need to be addressed, as well as the necessary long-term strategies for the early implementation in the Asia-Pacific region of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action related to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Also, the Chairman of the trade unions of Turkmenistan G.Ataeva made a report at the meeting “On State Guarantees of Ensuring Equal Rights and Equal Opportunities for Women and Men”.

On November 28, the meeting continued its work, during which the issues of women's empowerment and gender equality in the Asia-Pacific region, “Inclusive strengthening, joint development and decent work – topics for the implementation of gender equality of women and girls” and other actual problems were discussed.

In the afternoon of November 29, all participants in the meeting were expressed appreciation and the meeting completed its work.
