More specifically, the Ministry of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan and UNDP have launched three new joint projects:

  • Procurement of health products for the control of tuberculosis (TB) and other infectious diseases in 2021-2023;
  • Support to control of noncommunicable diseases (NCD) in Turkmenistan in 2021-2022;
  • A new phase of cooperation between the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Ministry of health and medical industry of Turkmenistan and UNDP to prevent and control Tuberculosis and other infectious diseases 2021-2024.

Since the launch of the Global Fund’s grant to fight tuberculosis in Turkmenistan in 2010, the country with the UNDP support has achieved significant results in TB control. Together with our partners, we work for implementingall innovations in detection and treatment of TB available all over Turkmenistan. As a result of successful partnership and remarkable results achieved, Government has substantially increased its allocations to the TB programme through UNDP.

“UNDP is a well-known trusted partner of the Government of Turkmenistan in the area of preventing infectious diseases. We are proud to see that our cooperation in the health area embraces new areas of non-communicable diseases. It illustrates UNDP’s effectiveness, transparency and accountability, especially at times of global pandemic” noted Natia Natsvlishvili, UNDP Resident Representative a.i.
