Turkmenistan appoints ambassador to Ireland

On October 15, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a decree appointing Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland Yazmyrat Seryaev as Ambassador to the Republic of Ireland, with residence in London.

The new powers of the Turkmen Ambassador to the UK will strengthen Turkmenistan’s diplomatic ties in the region of northwestern Europe.

The Republic of Ireland occupies most of the island of Ireland. In the north, it borders on Northern Ireland (part of Great Britain). The capital is Dublin, where about a quarter of the country’s population (1.4 million people) lives.
