Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan and Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation had a telephone conversation. The Turkmen leader congratulated his Tatarstan counterpart on his victory in the country’s presidential election. This was reported by the press service of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the future of joint economic projects. It is said that Turkmen-Tatar relations will continue at its high pace.
President Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the Turkmen leader for his cordial congratulations and sent his best wishes to the Turkmen people.
Rustam Minnikhanov, who has been running for the presidency of the Republic of Tatarstan, won 83.28 percent of the vote. His swearing-in ceremony will be held on September 18.
