Turkmen-Belarus Commission on Economic Cooperation

On May 22, 2019, the Ninth Session of Intergovernmental Turkmen-Belarus Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in the Ministry of Industry and Communications of Turkmenistan.  The delegation of Turkmenistan was headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Turkmen part of the Commission M.B.Chakiyev.  The delegation of Belarus was headed by the Deputy Prime-minister of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Belarus part of the Commission I.V.Lashenko who has arrived to Turkmenistan on a working visit.       

The heads and representatives of the leading ministries and sector agencies, as well as the representatives of the business circles of two countries participated to the Commission.

During the negotiations, the parties discussed in details the issues of trade and economic cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Belarus.  It was noted that the two friendly countries successfully cooperate in different spheres for many years.  They viewed the opportunities of increasing the trade turnover and activating the joint projects, particularly in the area of construction, transport and agro industrial complex.      

Also, the issues of further development of cooperation in the area of healthcare, education, culture and sport were considered. 

The Protocol was signed in accordance with the results of the Commission’s session.
