Third “Voice of Global South” Summit was held

On 17 August 2024, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmed Gurbanov participated in the ministerial session of the third summit “Voice of Global South” organized by the Government of the Republic of India in virtual format.

The overall theme of the summit, which brought together representatives of more than 100 countries, was “An Empowered Global South for a Sustainable Future”. The aim of the event was to formulate concrete proposals to deepen mutually beneficial regional cooperation and address the pressing problems of developing countries.

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan A. Gurbanov expressed gratitude to the Indian side for the invitation to participate in the event and reiterated Turkmenistan’s position in support of constructive cooperation based on the principles of neutrality and peaceful coexistence.

It was noted that Turkmenistan aims to further expand partnership on transport and energy.
