On March 30, 2024, the fifth Session of the seventh Convocation of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan was held. At the Session, deputies discussed and adopted draft laws developed in accordance with the priorities of Our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s national policy and the comprehensive program for modernization of the legal framework of the country.
During the Revival of the new Era of a powerful State, under the leadership of Our Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, effective work is being carried out on the fundamental modernization of the material and technical base of energy industry. By implementing big projects of regional and international importance in the energy sector, Turkmenistan shows its own approaches to the issues of environmental protection on a responsible, scientific basis.
In this regard, the adopted Law of Turkmenistan «On energy conservation and efficient use of energy» will promote conservation and efficient use of energy not only in the energy sector, but also in all sectors of the economy.
Currently, large-scale work on ensuring environmental well-being is being successfully implemented in the country.
In his speech at the 78th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations, our Hero Arkadagly Serdar noted that with the accession of our country to the Paris Agreement on climate, the relevant national programs were adopted, and the activities carried out in order to reduce and eliminate the negative consequences of methane emissions and made a proposal to establish a regional center for technologies related to climate change.
Based on these objectives, prepared and adopted the Law of Turkmenistan «On the work of Hydrometeorology» will help to implement the state environmental policy in the country, to ensure live of Turkmen people in a clean environment, and to use our natural resources in a systematic way, and to develop reliable cooperation in this field at the regional and international level.
Deputies discussed the draft Law of Turkmenistan «On approval of the Agreement between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on international road traffic». This Agreement legally regulates transport and logistics operations between Turkmenistan and the People’s Republic of China.
Adopted Laws «On Amendments to the Code of Civil Procedure of Turkmenistan», «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Turkmenistan», «On Amendments and Additions to the Family Code of Turkmenistan», «On Amendments to the Code of Turkmenistan «On Land», «On Amendments and Additionals to the Law of Turkmenistan «On Veterinary works» will provide an opportunity to expand the legal possibilities for further improvement of the functioning of relevant systems in the country.
Also, in order to further encourage physical education and sports for people with disabilities and people with limited health capabilities, as well as to bring them into line with the norms accepted in the world practice, the adopted the Law «On Amendments to Certain Laws of Turkmenistan» aimed to update the Regulations of the honorary title «the Master of sports» and the honorary title «the Honored coach of Turkmenistan». This will widely help encouraging the participation of people with limited opportunities and disabilities in sports.
