The roundtable of UN Development Programme

The  roundtable with participation of the representatives of the Government of Turkmenistan and the UN Development Programme was held in the UN Building in Ashgabat.

The main theme of the meeting was the project of the Country Programme of Cooperation between Turkmenistan and the UNDP for 2021-2025.  The priorities for further expansion of cooperation in such fields as the supremacy of law and diversification of economy, as well as the quality of statistical data were discussed.

During the meeting, the main articles of the document were voiced, including the comments on the progress attained by our country in recent years and the role of the UNDP on assistance to sustainable development.

Expressing its gratitude for active participation and fruitful joint work in the preparation of abovementioned document, as well as stating the objective of further development of cooperation in the given direction, the Turkmen side stated its full commitment to strengthening further collaboration with the UN, its specialized organizations, agencies and entities on a vast number of issues.

The representatives of the UNDP expressed sincere gratitude to the Turkmen side for the large work on the preparation of documents for further cooperation and underlined the active and thoughtful approach of Turkmenistan to the integration of the SDGs to the national programmes.

In the end, the representatives of both sides emphasized the adherence to further systematic work and expressed hope that the given session will give positive impulse to the development of multilateral partnership between Turkmenistan and the UN Development Programme.
