Telephone conversation of the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Egypt

On June 25, 2020, a telephone conversation took place between Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt S.Shoukry.

The diplomats discussed a number of key issues regarding the Turkmen-Egyptian relations. The high level of political-diplomatic dialogue and the positive experience of cooperation within the international organizations, in particular the UN, were emphasized. Colleagues noted the need for inter-MFA consultations in online format in the near future.

Issues related to overcoming the COVID-19 pandemic and its socioeconomic consequences were discussed. The need to use all necessary scientific, financial and other resources to resolve the situation was emphasized.

Diplomats considered the possibilities of widening the trade-economic cooperation and maintaining the positive dynamics of bilateral trade turnover.

An exchange of views took place on the development of cooperation in the field of science, education and culture.
