Signed a Memorandum of cooperation in the production of ammonia and methanol

The State concern «Turkmengas» and the Danish company «Haldor Topsoe» agreed to continue cooperation in the monetization of natural gas, this time with the aim of further processing it into ammonia and methanol.  The parties signed the corresponding Memorandum of Understanding yesterday within the framework of the XXVI International Conference «Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan 2021», which is being held in Ashgabat.

At the signing ceremony of the Memorandum, Haldor Topsoe Managing Director Peter Christenson expressed confidence that these projects will be another example of the excellent use of Turkmenistan’s gas resources and create additional benefits and value for the country and its citizens.

Earlier, the world’s first plant for the production of ECO-93 gasoline from natural gas was built in Turkmenistan using Haldor Topsoe technologies.

On the first day of the conference, other documents on cooperation with foreign partners were also signed.  Among them is a contract on conducting prospecting and appraisal works in hard-to-reach areas of the Goturdepe oil and gas field between the State Corporation «Turkmengeology» and the company «Yug-Neftegaz Private Limited» (Singapore), as well as a contract between the TCOR and the British company «Petro Gas LLP» on the design  and the construction of a third berth at the Kenar Oil Products Storage and Shipping Facility.
