Secretary General Dr. Asad M. Khan held a bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan, H.E. Rashid Meredov, who has been on an official visit in Tehran.
Reaffirming Turkmenistan’s strong support for ECO initiatives, particularly in the areas of transport connectivity and tourism, Foreign Minister Meredov highlighted Turkmenistan’s support to enhancing regional cooperation within ECO framework.
Secretary General Khan expressed his gratitude to the Minister for his dedicated attention to ECO’s regional cooperation initiatives. Acknowledging Turkmenistan’s active involvement in ECO events, under the leadership of honorable President of Turkmenistan, H.E. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Dr. Khan briefed the Minister on upcoming important Ministerial Meetings in Trade, Tourism and Transport, as well as the 17th ECO Summit to be held in Azerbaijan, on 3-4 July, 2025. He also conveyed the ECO Secretariat’s readiness to closely work with the relevant authorities to make the planned Sustainable Development Forum at the Ministerial level in Arkadag city, a successful event.
