Relations between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan are improving

The consul of Turkmenistan G. Garayev had a meeting with the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation I.Yu.Babushkin.

At the beginning of the meeting, the consul presented to the Governor a copy of the consular exequatur. The Governor wished success in his new diplomatic post for the benefit of the development of Turkmen-Russian relations.

Further, the sides discussed the main areas of constructive cooperation in many areas of mutual partnership. Willingness was expressed to develop relations with Astrakhan region in such areas as shipbuilding, education and cooperation in the Caspian.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the possibility of opening a logistics center for goods from Turkmenistan on the territory of the port special economic zone being created in the near future in the area of ​​the Olya seaport in the Astrakhan region with a subsequent distribution function.

In addition, the parties touched upon the issue of establishing direct flights between Turkmenistan and Astrakhan, which will contribute to the strengthening of economic contacts, stimulate the development of tourism and business.
