President of Turkmenistan visited Ashgabat International Airport

President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Ashgabat International Airport, which is the largest air harbor in the region and one of the world’s leading ones in terms of technological equipment.

The head of Turkmen Airlines, Dovran Saburov, reported to President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on the results of the work carried out, the fulfillment of the assigned tasks, as well as on the steps taken to improve the qualifications of industry specialists.

The head of state mentioned that civil aviation plays an important role in the sustainable development of Turkmenistan and strengthening of the national economy. In this regard, the key requirement is the strict fulfillment of the tasks set for ‘Turkmen Airlines’ arising from the Program of the country’s socio-economic development for 2019-2025, bringing the work performed in line with the spirit of the times.

Speaking about this, the President of Turkmenistan stated that, despite the full support from the state, including financial, provided tax incentives, activities in the field of air communications of the country do not meet modern requirements.

Expressing dissatisfaction with this state of affairs, the head of state reprimanded the chairman of the Turkmen Airlines agency D. Saburov for improper performance of official duties and shortcomings in the work, with the last warning that the shortcomings would be corrected as soon as possible.
