Opening ceremony of the bust of Magtymguly Fragi held in Moscow

On 30 September 2024, the ceremony of unveiling the bronze bust of the great Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi was held in the atrium of the All-Russia State Library for Foreign Literature named after M.I.Rudomino in Moscow.

The installation of the bust of the great son of the Turkmen people in one of the central areas of the metropolis was an important step in preserving the memory of the great poet and serves as an evidence of the progressive development and strengthening of cultural-humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Russia.

The solemn event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and relevant state entities, diplomatic corps accredited in the Russian Federation, including diplomats simultaneously accredited in Turkmenistan.  Among the participants of the event were also representatives of the mass media, public organizations, student youth and the Turkmen diaspora.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Russian Federation E. Aydogdyyev, Deputy Minister of Culture of Russia S. Pershin, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Cultural Cooperation M. Shvydkoy, Director General of the All-Russia State Library of Foreign Literature named after M. Rudomino P. Kuzmin, translator of works by Magtymguly Fragi into Russian I. Golubnichiy and others gave speeches at the event.

Among the guests of honor were the Executive Director of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund L. Drachevskiy and sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of Turkmenistan, painter, and maker of the bust Z. Babayev.

The performance of cultural figures of Turkmenistan, who came specially to participate in the ceremony, enriched the festive event.
