On June 12, 2020, an online meeting was held at the Central Office of the Oil and Gas Complex of Turkmenistan with Fatih Birol, Executive Director of the International Energy Agency, and M. Meredov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan for Oil and Gas Issues.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibility of preparing a joint review with the International Energy Agency on the prospects for the gas, oil and energy sectors of the economy of Turkmenistan.
They also considered proposals for training personnel by organizing short-term courses on medium-term and long-term forecasting of the evolution of international energy markets, as well as on the introduction of technologies for energy efficiency and green energy.
At the end of the meeting, the prospects of establishing and developing cooperation on alternative and renewable energy sources were discussed.
