Online conversation between Turkmenistan and Egypt

On the 10th of June 2020, a working meeting in the framework of the preparations to the next sitting of the joint Intergovernmental Turkmen-Egypt Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation was held between the representatives of Turkmenistan and Arab Republic of Egypt through videoconferencing.

The heads and representatives of the ministries and institutions working in the field of trade, finances and foreign economic relations, oil and gas sectors, as well the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries participated to the meeting. The heads of the external policy agencies of Turkmenistan and Egypt also took part in the work of the meeting.

During the meeting, the key aspects of bilateral ties in political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres were discussed. The parties spoke about the importance of mutual visits of the heads of state of both countries which serve as a vital link in the promotion of Turkmen-Egyptian relations.

The parties thoroughly discussed the level of trade-economic relations and the impact of the pandemic on the economies of the world countries. The opportunities for the development of partnership on priority vectors, including the trade and investments, oil and gas were considered. The ways of expanding the cooperation between the business circles of the two countries were discussed.

The participants considered the opportunities for the development of collaboration in the area of scientific diplomacy.
