Meeting with the Secretary General of the International Transport Forum

In  the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, a meeting was held in the form of a video conference with the Secretary General of the International Transport Forum (ITF) Kim Young Tae.

The leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specialized agencies such as Turkmenavtoulaglari (Turkmen Road transport), Turkmenkhovayollary (Turkmen Airlines), Turkmendenizderyoyllary (Turkmen Sea and River transport), Turkmendemiryollary (Turkmen Railways), as well as the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan discussed key aspects of our country’s interaction with the ITF.

As the Secretary General of the International Transport Forum noted, the organization deals with various transport issues, including multimodal transport, the links between different modes of transport, and in this direction, the parties have great opportunities for joint implementation.

The Turkmen side familiarized Kim Young Tae with the priorities of transport diplomacy of our country, as well as with the international initiatives of the President of Turkmenistan, designed to fully reveal the potential of the participants for socio-economic integration throughout the region. The interlocutors also discussed major investment projects in the field of sustainable transport, aimed at approving the status of Turkmenistan as a transit and transport hub of regional importance.

As the Secretary General of the International Transport Forum emphasized, the transport industry has been and remains a kind of system of building ties between people, which contributes to economic development and cultural exchange of countries and peoples.
