On 24 October 2024, the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Pakistan Institute of Peace and Diplomacy Studies jointly organized an international scientific and practical conference on the theme «Classical poets of the eastern world: the intellectual heritage of Magtymguly Fragi and Allam Iqbal» at the Allam Iqbal Open University of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The event was attended by the Federal Secretary for National Heritage and Culture of the Government of Pakistan Hassan Nasir Jami, President of the Pakistan Institute for Peace and Diplomacy Studies Farhat Asif, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Atajan Movlamov, as well as representatives of higher educational institutions and research institutions of Turkmenistan and Pakistan, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Pakistan and the media.
In their speeches, the participants noted that the creative heritage of the outstanding poet serves as an important bridge in expanding cultural ties and bringing countries and peoples together.
At the end of the meeting, the embassy presented commemorative gifts on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.
