International conference in Avaza dedicated to the Lapis Lazuli route

On November 28, 2018, the International Conference of Ministers of Transport of the countries participating in the Agreement on Transit and Transport Cooperation (Lapis Lazuli Route Agreement) is planned to be held in the city of Turkmenbashi in “Avaza”national tourist zone.

The Agreement on transit and transport cooperation was signed on November 15, 2017 by the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, Georgia and the Republic of Turkey. During the conference held within the framework of this agreement, the ministers of transport of Turkmenistan and several other countries with the participation of international organizations and large foreign companies will jointly discuss various issues regarding the transport sector of the Lapis Lazuli route.

In addition during the conference is expected to hold bilateral meetings to consider the important role of transport and transit corridors on the world stage, as well as their further expansion.
