Georgian Parliament Speaker meets Turkmen counterpart

The Georgian Parliament Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili, met with the Speaker of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan, Dunyagozel Gulmanova.

Both parties underscored the friendly relations between Georgia and Turkmenistan and discussed further avenues for enhancing parliamentary cooperation.

Particular emphasis was placed on bolstering connections between relevant committees of the legislative bodies and inter-parliamentary friendship groups.

Additionally, the parties examined the parliamentary activities of both countries and the existing regulations governing their respective legislative bodies.

To facilitate the exchange of reforms and best practices, a visit by a parliamentary delegation from Turkmenistan to Georgia is planned for April-May of this year.
