Georgia hosted a regular meeting on the development of the CASCA+ multimodal route

A regular six-party meeting of the heads of railway administrations of Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkiye on the development of the international multimodal route CASCA + “Asia-Pacific Countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkiye-Europe” was held in Batumi, Georgia on 5-6 September 2024.
A Turkmen delegation was headed by the Deputy Director General of Turkmenistan’s Demirýollary S.Nurberdiyev.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of the strengthening of international cooperation between logistics structures, the activation of the CASCA+ transport corridor, the exchange of experience of the participating countries in order to realize the transport potential in road, sea, rail and air transportation.
The participants emphasized that cooperation in such a promising area as rail transport and logistics is an integral factor of positive integration processes in the context of the globalization of the world economy and universal sustainable development.
The meeting resulted in the signing of a Protocol aimed at further developing the multimodal route and strengthening productive cooperation between the parties.
As part of their stay in Georgia, the participants visited the new multimodal container terminal in Poti.
