FAO will open a representative office in Turkmenistan

A meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan R.Meredov with the Director of the Subregional Office for Central Asia of Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) Viorel Gutu has been held in the videoconferencing format.

During the meeting, the parties considered key aspects of interaction between Turkmenistan and FAO. It was underlined that Turkmen side appreciates the activity of the Organization and intends to develop effective cooperation aimed at the use of the world practice in the field of sustainable development of agriculture and improvement of measures to maintain of food security.

The sides also exchanged views about working up and fully implementation of joint projects and programs. It was expressed the readiness of the parties to step up actions for the opening of the representative office of FAO in Turkmenistan.

Within the framework of the meeting, the Director of the Subregional Office for Central Asia of Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN has been invited to participate in the International Conference “The Policy of Peace and Trust – the basis of international security, stability and development”, which will be held in Turkmen capital on December 12, 2021.
