On May 19, 2020, a working meeting was held in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan in the form of a video conference between representatives of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation on the export opportunities and import needs of Turkmenistan and Russia in the textile industry.
The Turkmen side was headed by the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan. The Russian side was headed by the Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation. Also the heads and representatives of relevant ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation participated to the meeting.
This meeting provided an opportunity for participants to discuss the current cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation, as well as the most pressing issues of the regional and international agenda. The attention of the parties was paid to the possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of trade and exchange activities; in particular, interest was expressed in the supply of textile products. Participants exchanged views on the organization of supplies of textile goods, yarn and cotton products of Turkmen production in the Russian Federation.
In conclusion, the parties expressed satisfaction with the process of expanding the Turkmen-Russian interaction in various areas of mutual interest.
