Yesterday, on 12 May 2023, with the approval of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran and with the assistance of Iranian Cultural and poetry Association, and Parliamentary bloc of the Iranian President, the festive cultural event, dedicated to the birthday anniversary of Magtymguly Pyragy, the great Turkmen poet and thinker was held at the Tehran University – one of the leading and ancient universities of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The event was attended by Vice-president of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Parliamentary Affairs Mohammad Hosseini, former Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki, ex-governor North Khorasan Province of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadi Bigash, representatives of muslim society – imams and honorable elders, representatives of Turkmen diaspora and scientists, who studies creative legacy of the great poet of XIX century.
During the event, the presentations and speeches were delivered by the representatives of expert community, as well as diplomatic and political figures, including Mohammad Hosseini and Manuchehr Mottaki.
In the speech of 3rd secretary of Turkmenistan Embassy – Kemal Atayev addressed to participants was highlighted the importance of holding such cultural and promotional events, which strengthens the cultural links between two countries, and also spoke about the Turkmen literature and the vital role of Magtymguly Pyragy in establishing the unique national identity of the Turkmen nation.
After a presentation made by leading scientists and special guests, focused on life and works of the classic poet of the Turkmen literature, the special concert program, prepared by the Turkmen diaspora took place. The Turkmen folk songs and dances were performed on the stage.
Upon completion of the event, professors and staff of the Tehran university took memory photo with the conference participants and guests.
