On October 10, 2019, the meeting was held between the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and the Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee – Executive Secretary S.N. Lebedev who has arrived to Turkmen capital to participate in the sessions of the Council of Foreign Ministers and the Council of Heads of States of the CIS countries.
In the beginning of the meeting, S.Lebedev especially noted that the chairmanship of Turkmenistan in the CIS in present year has a great significance from the standpoint of strengthening the ties between the participating states and underlined that the development of mutually beneficial relations between the countries continues to be one of the priority tasks of the Commonwealth.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the priority directions and perspectives of partnership in the framework of the CIS, as well as determined the essential actions on the improvement of activities of the Commonwealth in the future.
Special accent was made on the major input of Turkmenistan in the development of fruitful cooperation on the space of the Commonwealth.
