On May 29, 2026, a meeting was held at the White House in Washington between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of Turkmen-American cooperation across a wide range of areas.
The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the recent intensification of bilateral political and diplomatic dialogue and emphasized the importance of maintaining regular contacts at the high and highest levels.

Particular attention was given to cooperation in the fields of trade and economics, energy, and transport and communications. In this context, the parties underscored the importance of expanding mutually beneficial partnership, including on issues related to energy security and the diversification of energy supply routes.
The meeting also addressed cooperation in the field of regional security, efforts to combat contemporary challenges and threats, and interaction within multilateral frameworks, including the C5+1 platform.
The parties noted the significant potential for further development of bilateral cooperation and reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing a constructive dialogue on all issues of shared interest.
