Foreign ministers of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan met in New York

On May 26, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, within the framework of his working visit to New York City.

During the meeting, the sides highlighted the role and importance of high-level mutual visits and contacts between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan in further developing bilateral relations based on friendship and brotherhood.

They also discussed the bilateral and multilateral cooperation agenda, including opportunities to expand cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, energy, transport and logistics, as well as humanitarian areas, science, education, and culture, alongside cooperation within the Caspian Sea framework.

In addition, the importance of continuing mutually beneficial cooperation and solidarity within multilateral platforms was emphasized.

At the same time, views were exchanged on regional security issues, and the significance of maintaining peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region as a whole was stressed.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
