Sahiba Gafarova who is taking part in the 2nd Asian Women’s Forum in the town of Bukhara of Uzbekistan has met there with Speaker of the Majlis of Turkmenistan Dünýägözel Gulmanowa.
The successful advancement of the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan across all the areas covered was mentioned with content at the meeting. The Speakers observed that the high-standard political dialogue of the Heads of State played a crucial role in the on-going strengthening of the bilateral bonds.

Talking about the significance of the 2nd Asian Women’s Forum then, they underlined its considerable role in bolstering women’s participation in public and political life and in broadening co-operation amongst various countries’ women parliamentarians. Sahiba Gafarova remarked upon the Forum’s contribution to the strengthening of women’s role in decision-making processes as well as to furthering the co-operation amongst the Member States’ Parliament and to enhancing regional solidarity.
As regards the inter-parliamentary relations, Sahiba Gafarova mentioned the successful furtherance of the relevant co-operation. Next were covered the Friendship Groups active in the Parliaments of both countries and the fact that the Parliaments also co-operate within international parliamentary organisations.
Dünýägözel Gulmanowa, too, referred to the currently high level of our countries’ and Parliaments’ relations before stressing the input of reciprocal visits and intensive contacts in the continuing deepening of the relations.
The meeting had an exchange of opinions about strengthening co-operation upon international and regional platforms, about the growth prospects of the inter-parliamentary links and about also other matters of joint interest.
