Deputy Minister of Science and Education Firudin Gurbanov visited the city of Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Within the framework of the visit, the Deputy Minister participated in the opening ceremony of the Olympiad organized for school students at Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly, by the invitation of the Minister of Education of Turkmenistan, Jumamyrat Gurbangeldiyev.
During the Olympiad, Deputy Minister Gurbanov reviewed the exhibition boards and thematic corners prepared by the students.
In his remarks at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Gurbanov informed participants about the friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, as well as ongoing cooperation in the fields of science and education. He particularly emphasized the important role of intellectual games and knowledge-based competitions in supporting the development of students. The Deputy Minister also conveyed his recommendations to the participants and extended his best wishes for their success.
Following the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister Gurbanov held a meeting with the leadership of Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly. As part of the visit, he visited the museum of the university and a dedicated corner honouring the prominent thinker and poet Magtymguly Pyragy.
It should be noted that the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Mathematical Olympiad, as well as the meeting with the leadership of the university, were also attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Turkmenistan, Gismat Gozalov.
