On 12 November 2025, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan participated in the meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asian Countries, held in Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of the parliaments of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as representatives of international organisations and civil society institutions, and local executive authorities.
The participants noted the importance of effective activities carried out in the countries of the region to empower women and strengthen their role in public and social life.
In their speeches, representatives of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan underlined that Turkmenistan is consistently working to improve its legal and regulatory framework aimed at protecting women’s rights and strengthening their role in society. In this context, they noted the importance of implementing the National Action Plan on gender equality in Turkmenistan for 2021-2025, which promotes the participation of women in public administration and the economy, as well as the advancement of gender equality principles.
