Ambassador H.Amannazarov met with IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi

H.E. Hemra Amannazarov, Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Austria and Permanent Representative to the IAEA met with the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, to review and further strengthen ongoing cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Agency.

Discussions focused on key areas of partnership, including the development of the upcoming Country Programme Framework 2025–2029, Turkmenistan’s intention to access into the Agreement on the Privileges and Immunities of the IAEA, and preparations for Turkmenistan’s high-level participation at the 69th IAEA General Conference in September.

The two sides also exchanged views on the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3), to be held in Awaza, Turkmenistan, from 5 to 8 August 2025. Ambassador Amannazarov outlined national preparations and emphasized the importance of international engagement. Director General Grossi noted the IAEA’s plan to participate at a high level.
